Contribution = passenger revenue + cargo and mail contribution − flight operating cost, including airport adjustments. Demand uses Admin market settings and any scenario edits for the planning date. Runway and slot availability are entered by the user. Overhead, fare dilution, displaced traffic and competitive response are excluded.

Flight time and utilization defaults are maintained in Admin.

Flights and demand: Each round trip has two flights. Total demand and connecting share are entered per day, per direction. Fare changes adjust local demand from its reference fare; editing demand does not change fare. Admin seasons apply to matching dates, weekdays and directions. Regular values apply outside those periods. Scenario edits take priority.
Seats and revenue: Seats × daily round trips gives capacity in each direction. Extra seats increase revenue only when there is unmet demand. Connecting passengers use their own average revenue per passenger.
Daily contribution: Passenger revenue plus cargo and mail contribution, minus operating costs, including airport and handling allowances.
Break-even load factor: The percentage of seats that must be filled to cover costs at the entered fares, after cargo and mail contribution.
Aircraft utilization: Flight time plus turnaround time, divided by available daily hours. Above 100% requires more than one aircraft.
Aircraft estimates: Selecting an aircraft loads editable seats, flight time, cost and range. Cost defaults are maintained in Admin.
Crew costs: Changing total crew adjusts flight cost at the cabin crew hourly rate. Only the difference from the crew included in baseline cost is applied.
Range and airport checks: Routes exceeding the aircraft range limit are flagged. Runway and slot settings flag airport constraints. Flagged routes keep their financial results visible.

Aircraft estimate defaults

Aircraft configuration: The table shows starting seats, range and cruise speed for each aircraft. Seats and range are editable; seat changes also update default crew.
Operating cost: Admin holds non-fuel aircraft benchmarks, fuel use, separate pilot and cabin crew rates, and overhead. These produce Operating Cost; airport and handling allowances are added separately.
Fuel savings: Fuel use is an aircraft estimate in kg per block hour. The fuel-use adjustment changes consumption: negative uses less; positive uses more.
Fuel price: Uses the standard price from Admin unless the departure airport has an override. With equal flights in both directions, Operating Cost shows the average of the two directions.
Distance and flight time: Airport codes calculate great-circle distance; you can edit it. Block Time uses the aircraft’s cruise speed, routing allowance and taxi / climb / descent allowance.
Crew: Two pilots plus one cabin crew per 50 passenger seats, rounded up. Pilots and cabin crew have separate hourly rates in Admin, including pay and employer costs.
Daily aircraft time: Turnaround time and available daily hours set the aircraft utilization budget.
