Site defaults

Aircraft and operating defaults start new plans. Saved market seasons apply to matching routes when the planner is opened or refreshed.

Default settings

Set standard aircraft, flight-time and operating-cost assumptions. Industry-based airport profiles apply by default; enter airport and market exceptions under Section B. Airport and market overrides.

Fuel cost per block hour = fuel use × applicable fuel price. Adjust fuel use using your fleet data. Negative fuel-use adjustments reduce consumption; positive adjustments increase it. Non-fuel benchmarks exclude fuel and crew costs.

Flight time and aircraft utilization

These defaults apply to all route plans. Save changes, then open or refresh Route Planning to apply them.

Crew, fuel and overhead rates

Shared cost rates. Airport-specific fuel prices replace the standard price.

Pilot cost is per person per block hour. Overhead is applied to aircraft, fuel and pilot costs.

Airport and handling allowances

Industry-based airport categories provide default allowances. Each one-way flight includes allowances for both airports. Fuel costs are calculated separately.

All four levels are editable. Starting allowances are planning assumptions, not airport tariffs.

Airport overrides

Industry-based defaults apply unless you enter airport-specific values here. Leave a field blank to use its default.

Enter IATA or ICAO airport codes and at least one airport-specific value. Leave fields blank to use defaults; enter $0 for no cost. Remove an entry to restore all defaults for that airport. Route edits take priority.

Markets and seasons

Create markets: Enter O&D pairs and their year-round values.
Add seasons: Set any seasonal dates and changed values that apply.
Review and save: Check the timeline, and save changes.

Click an O&D or season name to edit. Use + Add seasons to apply a season to an existing market.

How values apply

Year-round defaults: Apply unless a season matches the date, weekday and direction.
Season values: Enter only changes. Blank fields use year-round defaults; bold numbers show overrides.
Dates and directions: Start and end dates are included. RT covers both directions; OW covers the listed O&D. Weekdays read Monday–Sunday (MTWTFSS).
OW return row: Created automatically where needed, using year-round values until edited.
Operating cost: Leave blank to use Route Planning’s cost. Airport allowances are added separately.
Save changes: Saves all settings, including a valid open entry. Open or refresh Route Planning to load them. Planning-page edits take priority.

Starter examples

Create and edit routes on the main Route Planning page. These examples are starting templates; edit them here to change the templates.

Templates load on first visit or when Restore examples is selected. On the main page, use × to remove a route or + Add route to create one. Seats, crew, Cost and Block Time follow the selected aircraft defaults.
